Committee of Management
Assisi Aid Projects is governed by a volunteer Committee of Management who ensure good governance, financial integrity, and that Assisi Aid Projects is delivering against its strategic priorities.
The work of Assisi Aid Projects is supported by three sub-committees: Strategy and Projects; Finance and Risk; and Fundraising and Communications. Membership of these sub-committees is comprised of Committee of Management members with expertise or interest in those areas, and other volunteer sub-committee members bringing a wide range of professional and technical expertise. The Commitee of Management and sub-committees provide our CEO and team with additional support and advice, and ensure that our projects, policies and approaches meet high technical standards.

Elizabeth is a senior consultant with Beasley Intercultural, an adviser to the Samata Foundation (Nepal), and a member of Habitat for Humanity, Australia’s International Program Advisory Committee. Following a successful career with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, she now provides consulting and advisory services to the private, government, and not-for-profit sectors. Elizabeth is an experienced partnership broker with significant expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder management, governance and policy reviews, humanitarian disaster responses, and building capacity in organisations. She brings a passion for social justice and empowerment of vulnerable communities to the Committee of Management.
Judith is an independent consultant, who has extensive international development experience in the not-for-profit, public, private and tertiary education sectors. Judith previously worked for AusAID, and was a Team Leader for a major Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade initiative in Indonesia. Judith was the CEO of Nossal Institute Limited at the University of Melbourne. With a Bachelor of Development Studies and Sociology and a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Judith has expertise in international development and public health. Her multidisciplinary and cross-cultural proficiency has been developed through extensive field-based work and life experience in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. Judith brings a deep commitment to international development and decades of practical experience to the Committee of Management in areas such as: organisational leadership; governance; risk management; strategic and business planning; business development; partnering; coaching; personnel management and capacity development of international teams; community empowerment; and participatory monitoring and evaluation.
Dione is a longterm member of Assisi Aid Projects, and a member of the team that worked on the relocation of its base from Bendigo to Melbourne. Dione has worked in aid and development for over twenty years, with an expertise in the not-for-profit sector. With skills in leadership, governance and management, Dione began her career with in an Australian Volunteers International placement in Vanuatu in 2000. She later spent 10 years with Live & Learn, working closely with the administration and communication teams domestically and internationally.
Andrew is a Director of Logan & Hall – Accountants and Advisers in Swan Hill Victoria. Andrew has been involved with Assisi Aid Projects from 2004, contributing valuable experience from the finance industry. With a Bachelor of Business (Agricultural Commerce), he is also a member of CPA Australia, bringing a range of finance skills to his role of Treasurer.
Tom is a founding member of Assisi Aid Projects, and its longest standing committee member. President of Assisi Aid Projects from 2002-2008, Tom is active in the community, being a founding member and president of numerous environmental and community groups. He has won several awards for his community service. Tom received an Order of Australia Medal in 2008 for his support of humanitarian aid projects, and for his work roles in environmental, church, education and emergency services groups. Tom has visited our projects in India, Timor Leste, and Cambodia, which has deepened his commitment for the organisation.
Thomas is a senior finance leader, and currently interim Chief Financial Officer at Next Business Energy. Thomas brings significant financial and leadership skills to the Committee of Management. With a Bachelor of Economics, Thomas’ skills include commercial management, change and transformation, strategy, business modelling, financial management and control, risk management, project management, restructuring and cost reduction. He has worked across a wide range of industries and sectors.Â
Nimarta currently works as a Gender and Protection Advisor, UN Women in Vanuatu. With more than a decade’s experience working in humanitarian relief and development, she has worked in the not-for-profit, public and private sectors. Organisations for which Nimarta has worked include Médecins Sans Frontières, Norwegian Refugee Council, Fred Hollows Foundation, Credit Union Foundation Australia, and GHD. Holder of a Bachelor of Media and Communications, Nimarta’s experience and expertise include operations management, program development, policy, gender and social inclusion, microfinance, governance, emergency aid, health systems, women’s empowerment and protection.
Abderazzaq brings his extensive experience in managing an integrated communication, marketing and stakeholder engagement portfolio to the Committee of Management, having worked with a range of organisations—government, not-for-profit and corporate—in Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Asia. His career, which spans three decades, has exposed him to a diverse range of sectors that includes health, retirement living and aged care, education, financial services, advertising and manufacturing. He works as General Manager, Marketing and Communication at the Aged & Community Care Providers and previously worked with organisations such as the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australian Scholarships Group, Australian Unity, Monash University, Sensis and General Motors, among others. Abderazzaq holds a Masters in Media and Communication and is also a trained journalist and teacher.
