The COVID situation in India is dire. We work closely with our counterparts in India to continually transition projects in the changing environment, to ensure we deliver activities that remain relevant to participants.
I would like to share part of IDT Project Manager, Sathiyaseelan’s report from this week:
“From last week, we have started collecting the numbers of infected persons from the target villages and the latest news is that one female beneficiary has been affected at Trichy District and there are few others.
Our high concern is in the most infected districts of Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu. We are closely watching the vulnerabilities and the Government efforts and we will be making every effort to maintain the safety of the beneficiaries and staff.”
The team in India are working under increasingly difficult conditions as COVID is directly impacting their neighbourhoods. I have great admiration for their resilience and determination as they continue to support the projects’ women and their families in this increasingly critical environment.
