Dear friends,
Please click here for the newsletter with an update of our work. If you would like a hard copy please email assisi@assisi.org.au.
In this past year, our project partners in India (Integrated Development Trust), Nepal (the Federation of Business and Professional Women), and Indonesia (Dreamdelion) have continued to engage with their communities to target the root causes of gender inequality in their unique settings. Through education, skills training, growing agroforestry-based small businesses, and providing economic empowerment opportunities through tourism training, the lives of women and their communities are being transformed.
Our work relies on generous donors and supporters to ensure our programs reach those who need it the most. In this time of global uncertainty, we have an even greater appreciation of your ongoing generosity and commitment without which none of our work would be possible.
We also acknowledge the support of the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) for all our projects, along with the Berfred Foundation for their co-funding of the Jajal Wae Sustainable Agri-Tourism Project.
I am also deeply grateful to our small and passionate staff and engaged volunteers who are resourceful and innovative in ensuring that your generosity makes a lasting difference. We warmly welcome Cate Coleman as our new CEO and are delighted that she continues to enhance our organisational impact. Cate will build on the legacy of our former CEO Dr Jacqueline Parisi to whom we are indebted for her effective leadership over the past three years.
Like me I hope you are excited about what we have realised together this year and enjoy this snapshot of some of our recent achievements.
Warmest wishes,
Judith Ascroft
Vice President (on behalf of Elizabeth Morris, President)
